China-based Okest Life Group has officially introduced its range of products to Zimbabwe, marking a significant step in its African expansion strategy. The company held its inaugural provincial business presentation at the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) center in Bulawayo over the weekend, signaling its commitment to contributing to the local economy.
Established in 1991 and headquartered in Beijing, Okest Life Group has built a strong presence in China over the past 33 years. The company has expanded into the African market since 2021, initially targeting Northern Africa before moving southward to Zimbabwe.
During the Bulawayo presentation, Director Mthabisi Nkiwane emphasized the company’s goals of job creation and economic stimulation through network marketing. Okest Life Group offers a variety of nutrition and health products, including womb care tea, multi-vitamin pills, and blood circulation-improving watches, all manufactured in China. Nkiwane outlined the company’s strategy of recruiting local distributors who will benefit from everyday sales and contribute to economic growth.
To become an official distributor, individuals are required to pay a US$20 membership fee. This fee covers product samples, a business bag, and a badge, equipping new distributors to start their businesses. Distributors will sell products at retail prices and earn a 20 percent profit on each sale.
The company’s approach is designed to offer accessible entry into business opportunities with low start-up costs, promoting economic participation and providing earning potential for Zimbabweans. The next business presentation is scheduled for Friday in Harare, where Okest Life Group aims to further expand its network of distributors and continue its mission of creating job opportunities and enhancing local economic development.
