
Zimbabweans and the rest of the world have been talking about Wicknell Chivayo Gifts especially now after his death. The late Wicknell Chivayo turned gift-giving into a spectacle that regularly dominated Zimbabwean social media.
Between 1 January and 9 July 2026, the businessman announced an extraordinary series of donations to churches, football clubs, musicians, community leaders and ordinary Zimbabweans.
Based on publicly shared figures and estimated asset values, Chivayo’s gifts during that period were worth approximately US$24.15 million.
The figure includes about US$15.75 million in cash donations and gifts, together with approximately US$8.4 million in vehicles and other assets carrying stated values.
However, the final total could be significantly higher because several Rolls-Royces, buses, ambulances and luxury vehicles did not have publicly disclosed prices.
Wicknell Chivayo Gifts – January started with more than US$2 million
Chivayo opened 2026 by gifting Johanne Masowe church members vehicles valued at more than US$500,000.
Head Priest Father Bushu received a Toyota Hilux Double Cab valued at US$75,000. Additionally, Chivayo deposited US$250,000 into a ZB Bank account for him.
Scottland FC received US$250,000, while football legend Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa received a Toyota Fortuner valued at approximately US$72,000 and US$20,000 in cash.
Highlanders FC also received a 75-seater bus. Meanwhile, Mukuru weMazuva was gifted a Rolls-Royce whose value was not disclosed.
January’s gifts were estimated at approximately US$2.22 million, excluding the Rolls-Royce and Chivayo’s Gulfstream G550 private jet acquisition.
Football dominated February’s spending
February became one of Chivayo’s biggest months for football-related gifts.
ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi was offered a Range Rover Sport D350 valued at approximately US$250,000. Chivayo also announced another US$250,000 donation to the national football team.
Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari received a Ford Everest worth about US$92,000. Luke Mnkandla and Madinda Ndlovu received Toyota Fortuners, while the club benefited from Chivayo’s US$1 million pledge.
Moreover, Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlope received a Toyota Prado and US$10,000.
Jah Prayzah’s mother also joined the growing list of beneficiaries. She received a Toyota Fortuner valued at US$78,000 and US$20,000 in cash.
February’s gifts carried an estimated combined value of US$2.63 million.
Churches received millions in March
Chivayo’s spending shifted towards churches and religious leaders in March.
He pledged a 2026 Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS600 valued at approximately US$450,000 and US$2 million to a Zion Christian Church leader and the church.
Madzibaba Temy Coca-Cola later received US$200,000.
Furthermore, Chivayo donated 10 ambulances and 200,000 litres of diesel. Those donations did not have disclosed prices and could have pushed the total considerably higher.
March’s gift package was estimated at approximately US$2.65 million, excluding the ambulances and fuel.
April produced the biggest monthly total
Several church leaders, lawyers, politicians and family members received major gifts in April.
Two lawyers, Sikhumbuzo and Edley, each received a 2026 Range Rover Sport valued at US$250,000 and US$50,000 in cash.
Walter Magaya Jr received a Lexus GX550 and US$50,000. In addition, 12 church leaders from across Zimbabwe received Toyota Fortuner GD6 vehicles and US$10,000 each.
Chivayo also celebrated his anniversary with Lucy “Lulu” Muteke by gifting her a 2026 Bentley Bentayga worth approximately US$750,000 and US$1 million in cash.
Susan Matsunga received a Toyota Fortuner GD6 and US$50,000.
Altogether, April’s gifts were estimated at approximately US$3.49 million.
Artists and religious leaders benefited in May
Singer Feli Nandi received a Toyota Fortuner and US$50,000.
Mr Putiti collected a Mercedes-Benz GLE450 worth about US$100,000 and US$10,000. Chivayo also assisted Phatisani and his friends with vehicle deals, including an estimated US$80,000 house transaction for Phatisani.
Dynamos FC received a 65-seater bus and US$50,000. Reverend Nelly Gwatidzo received a Toyota Fortuner and US$10,000.
Meanwhile, Bishop Manhango received a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado valued at US$160,000 and US$100,000 in cash.
Prophet Eubert Angel ended the month with a 2026 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG.
May’s gifts reached an estimated US$1.25 million, excluding vehicles whose values were not announced.
June brought another US$3.31 million
June included some of Chivayo’s most expensive religious donations.
Apostle Rodney Chipoyera received a 2026 Rolls-Royce, while Madzibaba Ngoni received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series.
Boxer Charles Manyuchi collected a Toyota GD6 worth US$75,000 and US$10,000. His associate Alfonso received a Toyota Aqua and US$20,000.
Chivayo also donated US$2 million to church leaders, followed by another US$1 million the next day.
Musician Baba Sharo later received a Toyota GD6 and US$10,000. His manager received a Toyota Aqua and US$2,000.
June’s disclosed gifts were estimated at approximately US$3.31 million, excluding several high-value vehicles.
July continued the extraordinary giveaway
The first nine days of July added approximately US$620,000 in disclosed gifts.
Pupurai Togarepi received a Toyota Fortuner GD6 and US$100,000. Prophetess Tracey Pilime collected a Lexus GX550 and US$50,000.
Freeman HKD Boss received a Mercedes-Benz GLE400d and US$10,000.
Jah Prayzah received a Ford Ranger valued at approximately US$110,000 and US$250,000 in cash.
However, one of the biggest July gifts went to Madzibaba Reminicco, who received a 2026 Lamborghini Urus SE and US$100,000.
Approximately 56 vehicles were gifted
Chivayo’s estimated 190-day giveaway included approximately 56 vehicles.
The fleet ranged from affordable Toyota Aquas to Toyota Fortuners, Ford Rangers, Range Rovers, Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and a Lamborghini Urus.
Additionally, three buses and 10 ambulances formed part of the donations.
Chivayo often described his generosity as an expression of Christian faith, patriotism and gratitude. His gifts supported sport, religion, education, music and community welfare.
Based on the available estimates, he gave Zimbabweans approximately US$24.15 million in cash and priced assets during the first six months and nine days of 2026.
The real figure could be much higher once every unpriced vehicle, bus, ambulance and fuel donation is included.
