Zimbabwe cricket coach Shepherd Makunura dies

Zimbabwe national cricket team fielding coach, Shepherd Makunura, has died.

Makunura, who was also Southern Rocks mentor, passed away at West End Hospital in Harare on Thursday morning. He had been ill for some time.

Makunura missed the International Cricket Council World Cup that was held between October and November due to ill health.

A Zimbabwe Cricket official confirmed Makunura’s death to NewsDay on Thursday morning.

Zimbabwe national cricket team batsman Tadiwanashe Marumani paid tribute to Makunura in a Twitter post. He wrote:

Sad to hear of the passing of coach Sheppy. May his soul rest in peace. Big up to all the memories and chances given.
