California Player Wins $1.22 Billion Mega Millions Jackpot

A massive Mega Millions jackpot of an estimated $1.22 billion was claimed in Friday night’s drawing, with the lucky ticket purchased in California.

The winning numbers for Tuesday’s draw were 3, 7, 37, 49, 55, and the gold Mega Ball was 6, accompanied by a 3X Megaplier.

This colossal jackpot ranks as the fifth-largest in Mega Millions history. Beyond the grand prize, four other players matched all five white balls, earning $1 million each. These winners hailed from California (two), Arizona, Missouri, and Texas.

The $1.22 billion prize comes with a one-time cash payout option of $549.7 million. Winners also have the choice of an annuity, paid out as an immediate sum followed by 29 annual payments, though most opt for the cash. The odds of winning the grand prize remain a staggering 1 in 302,575,350.
