
Amantle Samane murder: Soweto community urged not to take law into their own hands! Gauteng police have appealed to the community of Soweto to refrain from taking the law into their own hands after effecting two civilian arrests.
The community has been up in arms over the rape and murder of six-year-old Amantle Samane, whose lifeless body was discovered on Monday.
According to police, the alleged perpetrator lured Samane to his residence before he s.e.xually assaulted and murdered her.
On Wednesday, members of the community marched to the Orlando Police Station demanding answers and calling for the arrest of the alleged perpetrator.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo: “They come to the police station, they are protesting, so we are appealing to them let them give us space. We know that they are angry, we know that this incident has touched everybody in the community but please let them give us space and we promise them that we will work tirelessly to ensure that we arrest the suspect.”
