In Guruve, Mashonaland Central province, a tragic incident unfolded on July 12, 2024, when Bios Gweshe, reportedly suffering from mental illness, fatally struck his daughter, Grace Gweshe, with an axe during a cleansing ceremony at an apostolic church shrine.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi, spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), confirmed that Bios Gweshe has been arrested in connection with the murder.
In a separate incident on the same day in Lupane, authorities are investigating the murder of Lucy Sibanda (84) at Mlonyeni village. Sibanda was discovered deceased with severe injuries to her head and neck.
Police are actively seeking Logic Nyathi (24) for questioning regarding this case, as he is currently evading arrest.
The ZRP has appealed to the public to provide any relevant information to assist in their investigations. Citizens are urged to report any details to the nearest police station promptly.
