Engineer Simon Marara Appointed Acting Town Clerk of Chinhoyi Municipality

Engineer Simon Marara has been appointed as the acting Town Clerk of Chinhoyi Municipality, succeeding Justice Maxwell Kaitano who recently resigned to assume a new role as an Administrative Court Judge. The announcement of Engineer Marara’s appointment was confirmed by Chinhoyi Municipality spokesperson, Mr Tichaona Mlauzi, earlier today.

Engineer Marara brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served at Chinhoyi Municipality since 2012. Prior to his appointment as acting Town Clerk, he held the position of district engineer at Mazowe Rural District Council. His tenure at Chinhoyi Municipality has seen him involved in various capacities, contributing significantly to the town’s infrastructural development and service delivery.

Justice Maxwell Kaitano, who vacated the position, had served as Town Clerk since 2016 before his elevation to the judiciary. His departure marked the end of an era characterized by notable achievements and initiatives aimed at enhancing Chinhoyi’s municipal services.

Chinhoyi, the capital of Mashonaland West Province, is renowned for its historical significance and natural attractions. The town is notably home to the Chinhoyi Caves, a geological wonder renowned for its underground pool known as the “Sleeping Pool”. These caves attract tourists and locals alike, contributing to the town’s cultural and economic landscape.

The appointment of Engineer Simon Marara comes at a critical juncture for Chinhoyi Municipality, as it continues to navigate challenges and pursue development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for its residents. His leadership is expected to build upon past successes and steer the municipality towards further growth and prosperity.

As acting Town Clerk, Engineer Marara assumes responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Chinhoyi Municipality, including municipal planning, infrastructure maintenance, and community engagement. His professional background and dedication to public service make him a fitting choice to lead the municipality during this transitional period.

The residents of Chinhoyi look forward to witnessing the positive impact of Engineer Simon Marara’s leadership as acting Town Clerk, as the municipality continues to strive towards excellence in governance and service delivery.
