Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba has issued a critical update regarding the recent abuse of four activists. On Thursday, Siziba revealed that Samuel Gwenzi, Namatai Kwekweza, Vusumizi Moyo, and Robson Chere were brutally tortured by regime agents at an airport before having their phones seized.
The activists have since been abandoned at Harare Central Police Station. Siziba’s report underscores that immediate medical care is being provided to the individuals, with deployed teams of lawyers and medical professionals ensuring their well-being.
Siziba condemned the regime’s actions as a stark display of cruelty and sadism, emphasizing that such treatment is unacceptable, regardless of political differences. “No one deserves to be tortured for holding a different political view,” Siziba asserted.
This disturbing incident sheds light on the ongoing struggle for a political environment where citizens are protected rather than persecuted. Siziba reaffirmed the CCC’s commitment to fighting for a state that upholds the rights and safety of its people, rallying with the determined cry: “Homeland or death!”
