Nadia Nakai, Tammy Moyo, and Master H headline the Shoko Festival

The SHOKO Festival, renowned as Zimbabwe’s premier urban culture extravaganza, has unveiled its highly anticipated lineup for this year’s event. Headlining the festival will be South African-based rapper Nadia Nakai, Zimdancehall sensation Master H, and the talented songstress Tammy Moyo.

Scheduled to take place from September 26 to 28 in Harare and Chitungwiza, this year’s SHOKO Festival carries the theme #BothSidesofSamora, aimed at fostering social cohesion by uniting diverse communities through a shared love for cultural expression. Reflecting this inclusive ethos, the festival boasts a diverse lineup of Hip Hop and dancehall artists, promising a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean and African music. Vera Chisvo, the festival coordinator, expressed enthusiasm about this year’s program, highlighting its focus on celebrating the rich diversity among Zimbabwe’s youth.

“This year we are incredibly excited to showcase the diverse backgrounds of young people who are united by their passion for music and the arts. Our star-studded lineup truly reflects this diversity, and we look forward to announcing more acts soon,” said Chisvo.

In addition to musical performances, festival-goers can anticipate a range of engaging activities including the Mashup Night, Shoko Comedy, and the Peace in the Hood concert, ensuring an energetic and dynamic conclusion to the festivities.

Prior to the main event, SHOKO will host the Hub Unconference on September 24 and 25 at Moto Republik, featuring insightful talks and workshops focused on digital media, technology, and the creative economy.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming SHOKO Festival, organizers are gearing up to deliver an unforgettable experience that celebrates unity, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of Zimbabwean youth culture.
