Charles Pintec‘s Dendera music fans were left frustrated and disappointed after the highly anticipated show at Cotton Country Inn on January 31st was abruptly canceled. The abrupt ending of the event has been blamed on the promoter’s failure to honor contractual agreements, leaving many fans feeling shortchanged and angry.
The show, which was expected to be a night of thrilling Dendera music, had been widely advertised, with Charles Pintec as the headline act. Many fans traveled from far and wide to attend the event, only to be met with disappointment when the show did not go on as planned. Some of the attendees who spoke to this publication expressed their deep dissatisfaction, not just with the promoter but also with the management of Cotton Country Inn, who they felt should have ensured the event went on smoothly.
One fan, who had come from as far as Kwekwe, shared his frustration: “We spent money on transport, tickets, and other expenses just to be part of this event. It’s so unfair that after all that effort, the show was canceled with no clear explanation. The organizers should have done better.”
Another Dendera enthusiast from Chegutu stated, “This was a huge letdown. We were so excited to see Charles Pintec live, only to be turned away at the last minute. It’s disappointing to see promoters failing to honor agreements, leaving us, the fans, to suffer the consequences.”
In response to the debacle, Charles Pintec took the time to apologize to his loyal fans. When reached for comment, he expressed his deep regret over the cancellation, emphasizing that the situation was beyond his control. “We are so sorry for the cancellation of the show,” he stated. “However, our fans must not lose hope. We are going to make it up to them on February 15th.”
The upcoming show is scheduled to take place at the African Barrel, where Charles Pintec will share the stage with Juntal, the artist behind the hit song Mutupo. He assured fans that this time, everything will be well-organized to ensure a smooth and successful event. “Fans must come in their numbers, and they must come on time as it is a family show,” Charles Pintec urged.
While the upcoming show offers a glimmer of hope for disappointed fans, the events at Cotton Country Inn have raised concerns about the professionalism and reliability of promoters. Many fans have called for accountability, urging authorities to take action against organizers who fail to deliver on their promises.
As the February 15th show approaches, fans will be hoping that lessons have been learned from the previous failure and that they will finally get to enjoy the Dendera experience they had initially anticipated. For now, all eyes are on the African Barrel, where Charles Pintec and Juntal are set to redeem the lost opportunity and bring Dendera lovers the performance they deserve.
