Zimbabwe will be represented by sprinters Kudakwashe Chigwedere and Tinotenda Bango at this year’s Paralympics in Paris. The athletes, who are set to compete under the guidance of renowned Paralympic coach Elliot Mujaji, will showcase their talents on the global stage.
Kudakwashe Chigwedere is scheduled to run in the 100m race on Friday, at 12:50 PM, while Tinotenda Bango will compete in the same event on September 2, at 7:15 PM. The announcement of their participation was confirmed by Witness Magulula, President of the Zimbabwe Paralympic Committee.
Elliot Mujaji, a legendary figure in Zimbabwean sports and the most successful Paralympic sprinter from the country, is leading the team. Mujaji, who won gold medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics, brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the team.
The inclusion of Chigwedere and Bango in this year’s Paralympics highlights Zimbabwe’s continued commitment to supporting and developing athletes with disabilities, aiming for excellence in international competitions.
