UK police have launched a public appeal for assistance in tracing a 39-year-old Zimbabwean national who is wanted in connection with an alleged breach of a court order, as efforts to locate him so far have proved unsuccessful.
Officers are searching for Thinkwell Javangwe, also known as Thinkwall, who is believed to have links to the Hucknall area in Nottinghamshire. Despite following up on a number of leads and carrying out enquiries in areas where he is thought to have connections, police say Javangwe remains at large.
In a statement, authorities said they are stepping up their appeal to the public, stressing that community cooperation is crucial in helping them locate the wanted man. Police believe that someone may have information about Javangwe’s whereabouts, movements, or associates that could assist officers in bringing the matter to a swift conclusion.
“Officers are continuing to make enquiries to locate Thinkwell Javangwe, but at this stage we are appealing to the public for information,” a police spokesperson said. “Anyone who knows where he may be or has seen him recently is urged to come forward.”
Police have specifically appealed to members of the Zimbabwean community living in the United Kingdom, noting that Javangwe is a Zimbabwean national and may be in contact with friends, relatives, or acquaintances from the same community. However, authorities emphasised that the appeal is directed at the wider public as well, as even seemingly minor details could prove significant.
Manhunt Underway as UK Police Seek Wanted Zimbabwean Man
Javangwe is wanted for breaching a court order, although police have not released further details about the nature of the order or the circumstances surrounding the alleged breach. Officers said this was to protect the integrity of ongoing legal processes.
The case highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement when individuals wanted by the courts are able to avoid detection by frequently changing locations or relying on informal networks. Police say public tips often play a decisive role in such cases, helping officers narrow down search areas or identify new lines of enquiry.
Authorities have urged anyone with information not to delay in contacting the police. Members of the public can call the non-emergency police number 101 and quote the relevant reference when providing information. For those who prefer not to speak directly to the police, information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police have reassured the public that Crimestoppers operates independently of law enforcement and does not trace calls or record personal details, allowing tipsters to remain completely anonymous.
“Information provided by the public is often invaluable,” the spokesperson said. “Even if you think what you know is insignificant, it could help officers piece together a clearer picture of where the individual may be.”
Residents in and around Hucknall have also been encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any sightings or information promptly. However, police have cautioned members of the public not to approach or confront the wanted individual themselves, stressing that any information should be passed directly to the authorities.
Community leaders have echoed the call for cooperation, noting that compliance with court orders is a fundamental aspect of the justice system. They have urged anyone who may be aware of Javangwe’s whereabouts to assist the police in ensuring that legal processes are respected.
The appeal comes amid broader efforts by UK police to improve engagement with diverse communities, recognising that trust and cooperation are essential to effective policing. Authorities say such public appeals are not about targeting specific groups, but about reaching as many people as possible who may be able to help.
As the search continues, police say they will maintain active enquiries and follow up on all credible information received. Updates will be provided if and when new developments arise.
For now, officers are reiterating their call to the public: anyone with information about Thinkwell Javangwe’s whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101, or to provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
