Members of Zanu PF Harare Province convened their first Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting following the party’s 2025 Annual National People’s Conference in Mutare, marking a significant step in consolidating the party’s leadership and advancing its post-conference agenda. The meeting, presided over by Harare Provincial Chairman Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa, was described as successful, with party officials reaffirming their commitment to the key resolutions adopted at the national gathering.
A major highlight of the session was the formal introduction and warm welcome of prominent businessman Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei, following his recent appointment as a senior member of the province within the Central Committee. Tagwirei’s first engagement with the Harare PCC symbolises a new era aimed at strengthening and unifying the party’s provincial leadership structures.
During the meeting, party members reaffirmed their loyalty to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and expressed their support for his vision to ensure inclusivity in governance under the party mantra: “Leaving No One and No Place Behind.” Tagwirei, in his remarks, reiterated his commitment to supporting President Mnangagwa’s empowerment initiatives, emphasizing his desire to ensure these programmes reach the grassroots.
In March 2025, Zanu PF’s Harare Province unanimously recommended Tagwirei for co-option into the Central Committee, a recommendation that was officially ratified in October 2025. Addressing the PCC members, Tagwirei expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa, the party leadership, and the Harare provincial structures for their confidence and support. “I am a servant of the people and will work tirelessly to drive empowerment programmes to the grassroots,” he said, highlighting his years of experience in the party’s lower structures and his dedication to ensuring that party initiatives benefit all citizens.
“I am committed to driving President Mnangagwa’s vision and realising his dreams. As a dedicated servant of the revolutionary party, I will deliver as expected. I will continue supporting party programmes even at village level,” Tagwirei added.

Renowned for his philanthropic contributions and active involvement in both party and government initiatives, Tagwirei pledged to ensure that economic empowerment projects reach even the most remote communities. “We want to take economic empowerment to the remotest parts of the country,” he said. The meeting also saw the co-option of Cde Takawira Mashonganyika of Highfields into the Central Committee, further strengthening the provincial leadership team.
Cde Masimirembwa praised Tagwirei for his longstanding loyalty and commitment to the party. “Cde Tagwirei has worked at lower party structures for years and remains a dedicated member despite his success as a businessman. He is a champion of empowerment and a sanction buster. We will learn from him to ensure everyone is empowered,” he said. Masimirembwa also committed to providing conference feedback to all provincial structures.
One of the key resolutions highlighted during the meeting was Resolution Number One from the Mutare conference, which endorsed President Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030. Cde Masimirembwa emphasized that this resolution had been tasked to the party’s Secretary for Legal Affairs, Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, for implementation before the next conference.
“The conference also focused on pressing issues such as the state of the economy and household food security. Several signature projects have been completed nationwide, reflecting the achievements of President Mnangagwa. Members are in consensus that he should remain in office beyond 2028 to continue realising his vision,” Masimirembwa added.
Zanu PF Deputy Secretary for Security, Cde Tendai Chirau, called on all party members to actively support President Mnangagwa’s vision under the banner of “Leaving No One and No Place Behind.” He urged party activists to participate fully in economic initiatives aimed at achieving the broader Vision 2030 goals.
The PCC meeting was attended by a broad representation of the party, including Politburo members, Central Committee members, National Consultative Assembly representatives, and other provincial officials. The gathering served not only as a platform to reaffirm commitment to party objectives but also to showcase unity and mobilize provincial structures around key national priorities.
The inclusion of Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei is seen as a strategic move to leverage his experience, resources, and commitment to grassroots empowerment, reinforcing the province’s capacity to implement party programmes effectively. With this strengthened leadership team, Zanu PF Harare Province aims to consolidate its influence, enhance organizational cohesion, and ensure that party policies and initiatives reach citizens at all levels.
As the province moves forward, the focus remains on implementing conference resolutions, driving economic empowerment, and supporting President Mnangagwa’s long-term vision for the country, while maintaining unity and discipline within the party ranks.
