Madzibaba Luckymore Allegedly Used Strange Oil, Salt, and Milk Ritual Before Raping Woman

A 30-year-old self-styled prophet, Madzibaba Luckymore Believe Mugabe, is currently on the run after being accused of raping a 59-year-old congregant in Harare, raising serious concerns about abuse within religious circles.

The alleged incident reportedly took place when Mugabe, who is associated with the Johanne Masowe yeJerusalem Church in Mayambara Village, visited the woman to console her following the death of her sister. According to sources, the grieving congregant requested a prayer during the visit, and the prophet obliged by spending time with her in her dining room.

During the meeting, Madzibaba Luckymore allegedly instructed the woman to mix cooking oil, milk, and salt in a clay pot. He then performed a ritual prayer over the mixture, after which he told her to bathe and apply the mixture to her body, purportedly as part of the healing or blessing process.

It is alleged that following this, Luckymore entered the woman’s bedroom and raped her once without protection, taking advantage of her vulnerability. The woman immediately reported the incident to the police, prompting authorities to launch a manhunt for the fugitive religious leader.

Madzibaba Luckymore on the Run After Allegedly Raping Congregant in Harare

The case has been officially logged at St Mary’s Police Station under RRB 6657697, according to sources familiar with the matter. Attempts to obtain a comment from the Harare provincial police spokesperson were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

This disturbing allegation has drawn attention to the growing issue of sexual abuse within religious contexts, where perpetrators exploit trust and spiritual authority to commit crimes. Experts note that elderly and grieving individuals are particularly vulnerable, as they may rely heavily on spiritual guidance and support during times of personal loss.

Madzibaba Luckymore’s actions, if proven, highlight a serious breach of pastoral duty and trust. Religious leaders are expected to provide care, comfort, and guidance, particularly to vulnerable congregants. Allegations of sexual misconduct not only harm the victims directly but also erode community confidence in spiritual institutions.

Police are reportedly treating the case with urgency, given the severity of the allegations and the fact that the accused remains at large. Law enforcement sources indicate that officers are canvassing the Mayambara area and other locations where the prophet is known to operate.

The alleged victim, described as a 59-year-old woman, has been receiving support from local social services and church members who have condemned the incident. Advocacy groups stress the importance of providing both psychological support and legal guidance to survivors of sexual abuse, particularly when the perpetrator is a figure of authority.

This case also raises concerns about the lack of accountability and regulation in some religious organizations. While many churches provide essential spiritual and community support, instances of misconduct by religious leaders underscore the need for clear safeguarding policies and reporting mechanisms.

Community leaders in Mayambara Village have reportedly urged anyone with information on the prophet’s whereabouts to come forward to assist police investigations. They also reiterated that religious authority must never be used to exploit or abuse others.

Experts in gender-based violence emphasize that incidents such as this reflect a broader societal challenge: ensuring that vulnerable populations are protected from abuse, regardless of the setting. Religious and spiritual leaders carry a responsibility not only to guide their congregants but also to uphold ethical standards that protect the trust placed in them.

As authorities continue their search, the case serves as a cautionary tale for both congregants and religious institutions. Survivors of abuse are encouraged to report misconduct, while churches are urged to implement strict vetting and monitoring of their leaders.

For the local community and the broader public, the incident has sparked calls for greater vigilance and accountability within religious circles. It also underscores the importance of empowering victims to speak out and ensuring that law enforcement agencies respond swiftly and decisively to allegations of sexual abuse.

The investigation into Madzibaba Luckymore Believe Mugabe’s alleged actions remains ongoing. Police have appealed to anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact St Mary’s Police Station immediately. Meanwhile, the victim continues to receive care and support from community members and advocacy organizations dedicated to protecting survivors of gender-based violence.
