Blessed Geza Criticizes Zvigananda in Fiery Exchange

Outspoken war veteran Blessed Geza on Friday night delivered a blistering message to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and other ruling party officials, warning that relentless attacks on war veterans and Vice President General Constantino Chiwenga are destabilising ZANU PF and cannot continue unchecked.

Speaking to a packed gathering of supporters, Geza did not mince words. He began by addressing the looming ZANU PF conference, highlighting the mobilization of war veterans as a key element of the party’s internal dynamics.
“The ZANU PF Conference is approaching, and we are mobilising war veterans. The gluttony must end now. We will be at the conference — and to those who have been used, like Garwe, Mavetera, Muswere, Chinamasa, and Ziyambi Ziyambi — we will meet you in the boardroom. We want to know: where did you get the authority to attack the Vice President, General Constantino Chiwenga, a man who sacrificed his life for the country and for President Emmerson Mnangagwa?” he asked, drawing loud applause from the crowd.

Geza’s remarks were not just rhetorical; they carried a thinly veiled threat.
“We know that General Chiwenga, you said you don’t want bloodshed, that’s fine. However, if things continue like this, we are going to take action soon. We will not say what form of action we are taking,” he said, signalling war veterans’ willingness to defend their allies within the party.

Geza heaped praise on Chiwenga, describing him as “one of the few surviving members of the High Command” and lauding those who have “stood firm and remained loyal” amid internal party turbulence. His speech underscored the influence that war veterans still wield within ZANU PF, especially as succession battles intensify.

Turning to issues of governance and corruption, Geza did not hold back. He criticised mismanagement in key sectors and openly challenged the President’s leadership.
“Fellow Zimbabweans, make no mistake — Mnangagwa will not finish his term. A lot is happening behind the scenes. The wheels of change are turning. The people of Zimbabwe are saying, ‘Enough is enough’ to looting. We will end the rot in the transport, health, tourism, and other ministries where inflated tenders are feeding the gluttons,” Geza declared.

He reiterated his warning to party insiders:
“We know that General Chiwenga, you said you don’t want bloodshed, that’s fine. However, we will take action very soon. We will not tell you what kind of action we will take,” he said, his words punctuating the growing tension inside ZANU PF.

Geza also targeted high-profile business figures linked to the ruling elite, accusing them of reckless exploitation of state resources.
“Wicknell Chivayo, Kuda Tagwirei, Scott Sakupwanya — you are looting resources at will,” he charged, calling for accountability and warning that the current levels of corruption would not be tolerated.

Observers say his remarks highlight the deepening factional battles within ZANU PF, as war veterans increasingly rally behind Chiwenga while openly challenging Mnangagwa’s authority. Analysts note that the intervention of influential war veterans could significantly shape outcomes at the upcoming party conference and in succession politics.

Geza’s speech laid bare the fractures within the party, signalling that loyalty to Chiwenga may be emerging as a counterbalance to Mnangagwa’s ED2030 agenda. By publicly chastising senior party officials and powerful business allies, Geza demonstrated the war veterans’ continued political relevance and their willingness to confront even the President’s closest confidants.

The speech also underscores broader public frustration with corruption and mismanagement, tapping into sentiments shared by ordinary Zimbabweans who have long decried inflated tenders, government inefficiency, and perceived impunity for elites.

“War veterans are not just ceremonial figures anymore,” said a political analyst. “They are actively shaping policy debates and succession dynamics within ZANU PF. Geza’s intervention shows they are prepared to defend Chiwenga and hold Mnangagwa accountable if they perceive betrayal or mismanagement.”

As ZANU PF prepares for its 22nd National People’s Conference next month in Mutare, the stakes are high. Geza’s warning signals that any moves against Chiwenga or war veterans could provoke a strong internal backlash, potentially influencing leadership contests and party alignments.

With the factional struggle intensifying, all eyes will be on how Mnangagwa responds to these bold pronouncements. The war veteran community, long seen as a key pillar of party discipline and loyalty, has now emerged as a vocal player, willing to confront both political rivals and the President himself.

Geza’s speech, marked by defiance, praise for loyalty, and condemnation of corruption, thus provides a window into the high-stakes, faction-driven politics unfolding within Zimbabwe’s ruling party, setting the stage for potentially turbulent months ahead.
